Laser Therapy
Our new therapy laser is amazing in controlling arthritic pain and many other painful conditions.
The laser speeds healing of wounds, helps control itchy skin, infected ears and even painful disk disease.
Our acupuncturist, under the direction of a veterinarian, uses our laser to increase the effectiveness of acupuncture needles used in dogs with hip dysplasia and other painful joints bothering dogs and cats.
We are constantly discovering new uses for our therapy laser.

May 9, 2011 Laser Treatment Works! My dog Molly, a bichon, has been a patient of Northbay Animal Hospital since 2004, when I adopted her from the Marin Humane Society. When I brought her home, she had very itchy paws from allergy problems. She would lick and bite her paws until they were bloody. I started daily use of a dermatology spray from Northbay Animal Hospital to treat Molly's paws. This treatment, along with a couple of other ideas, such as daily foot baths, did improve her condition to the point where her paws were no longer bloody, but she still did quite a bit of licking on a daily basis. About a year ago, Dr. Walters informed me that laser treatment is now available for various conditions, and that this treatment might help relieve Molly's paw itching. I decided to give laser treatment a try. Since Molly has been having weekly treatments for the past year or so, I can say that the results have been incredible! Molly is doing very little paw licking these days. Instead of having paws with dark saliva stains from licking (Molly is a snow white dog), her paws are now again white like the rest of her body. I did not think that I would see snow white paws again on my dog! I am so grateful that this new laser technology is available to help with healing and that I have been able to take advantage of this option for my dog. The treatment is painless and takes a very short time during a vet visit. I strongly recommend laser treatment! -Lynn Kernfeld |
